At least, I'd be insane if I knew I hade to wait until the end of February instead of just 28 hours and 39 minutes until the opneing pitch of Mizozu's season.

What were they thinking?

It will also eliminate all but the most prominent and high-profile early season tournaments (e.g., Minute Maid Classic being one of the few exceptions), and perhaps of greatest impact, force teams to schedule multiple mid-week games (if they hope to retain a 50+ game schedule). This will further separate the elite programs, with deeper pitching staffs, from the pack.

Not that I cared then (actually it might have been better in my mind) or that I care all that much now, but compacting the season obviously means much more missed school time. I would venture to say that it might increase the number of classes by 50%, which, considering baseball players miss by far the most school days due to athletics, is a lot.

Yeah, but we can't have a post-season football tournament because the players would miss too much school. LOL
